Iris Kavanagh is a dedicated champion of Community (with a capital “C”) as both an agent of social change and a driver of business goals. She works with shared workspace organizations to streamline operations and develop dynamic communities. She fell in love with coworking when, as a member in 2009, she realized how powerful the experience of a real, in-person community was and quickly started thinking of ways to change the world through the coworking model.
As employee number one, Iris led NextSpace\'s growth during initial expansion from 1 location to 9, 36 employees, and 1500 members, while also playing a key role in establishing the awesome NextSpace culture. She\'s one of the original founders of the League of Extraordinary Coworking Spaces and COSHARE, produced Freelance Camps and has spoken at various conferences including the Global WorkSpace Association Conference and the Global Coworking Unconference Conference.
Iris has recently Co-founded Coworking Unbound to pilot coworking at the Santa Cruz Public Library and Women Who Cowork, an online Global Community of Female Coworking Founders & Thought Leaders that has been especially designed to provide connection, support, innovative ideas and inspiration.
Iris currently consults, leads Coworking Mastermind groups, and heads the board of directors of COSHARE. Recently, she has come full circle working with new NextSpace brand owner Pacific Workplaces to revitalize the Berkeley, CA location.
