I'm impressed with Croissant and quite happy with it- here's why it works for me.
Finding Croissant felt very serendipitous. I'm a UX designer, currently freelance, and juggle a number of projects and clients around NYC.
Coffee shops rarely have the kind of internet speed I need to upload images and make website edits, let alone a secured connection, and they offer no guarantee that there's a good spot for you. They come with all the obvious cons of working from a (bad) coffee shop: loud customers, occasional distracting food smells, seats that make you hunch over or tables that don't allow you to type comfortably, annoying music selection, lunch rush hours, limited hours... I could go on 😛
The charm of the freelance, semi-nomadic life though is being able to explore places you've never been before. The ability to plop down and work anywhere offers the chance to switch things up a bit, instead of commuting to the same office. I'm a creature of habit, so once I find a favorite spot I tend to make that my HQ, venturing forth to try new places but almost always returning to the same place and routine (On the Croissant trial week I quickly found my favorite spot was Pourt, in Astor Place. Very zen and rarely crowded)
Rent is already expensive in NYC, so it would just make sense to have a desk at home and work from there. Nope. Tried that. Too easy to get distracted when all your stuff is there. Not being around other people means you're also less aware of falling into Wikipedia/Youtube/Reddit rabbit holes and not working. There's something to be said for the clear demarcation of a work space when you work for yourself: your work/life boundaries are already fuzzy, with work hours spilling into evenings and weekends on certain projects. Having a workPLACE makes it easier to relax and not feel guilty about doing non-work things when you get home.
So, there's my long work/life story, pre-Croissant. Now I get a little excited whenever I'm getting ready to go to my regular spot, or have to go to a different neighborhood and I open up the Croissant map to see what venues are nearby.
This is a wonderful concept and I hope you realize what a difference it can make for members. I've at least 3x more productive and focused since I started, while at the same time feeling more stable and grounded as a freelancer than ever before.
Productive, Dynamic, Connected
Design makes you happy and allows you to feel in touch with your authentic and creative self. This puts you in a position to do your best work and that's why we're home to some of the city's greatest minds. The space is a favourite and second-home to all. Professionals ranging from scientists, doctors to designers and entrepreneurs unanimously feel their most productive and at peace whilst working.
We attribute the bright, natural and minimal elements of the space as well as the artwork to very positive morale. When you’re working in a beautiful art gallery, it’s natural instinct to feel inspired and motivated.
The sense of space and height of ceilings gives off a sense of freedom to ones own ideas and grandeur to think big.
The collective energy is electrifying and people say that like when you’re in a club you feel like dancing, when you’re at the Ministry you just feel like working. The Founder of Kulture Shop claimed she got more work done in one day at Ministry of New than in three weeks at home because distractions were finally eliminated and she was enthused by the Ministry environment.
We always have something going on between entrepreneur workshops, film screenings, art events, tech networking, to name a few.

I went to several different locations in search of a co-working space and knew BOND Collective was the right fit as soon as I toured. There is a ton of variety in workspaces options which allows you to be social and network with other members whether it's at a desk, on the couches, or in a conference room. They have locations that are perfect walks to the subway, workout classes, and lunch spots. Also, the Community Managers are amazing!
Alkaloid is simply suburb! I love going to work each day and being greeted by the same friendly faces. Katherine and Ben are a wonderful, generous, and gracious couple who go out of their way to make everyone feel at home. There are so many reasons to love this space with it's roof top deck, easy access to the ATL Beltline, monthly coworking lunches, and hoola-hoop fitness breaks.... You really can't ask for anything more. Alkaloid is the perfect location for any business big or small.

BizDojo is New Zealand's only national coworking network. They've taken what the world told them coworking should be and made it better. By adding a layer of people, programmes, beautiful places to work and a focus on growth, they're the team to get you to where you need to go. Just by visiting a few websites where their spaces are listed you'll see that the residents hold them in very high regard. Here are a number of reviews from across the web.
"A community that includes activated and design led spaces, events, amazing food, high-profile introductions, updates on from the ecosystem (locally & globally) & amazing PR opps. The team are experts in their fields & take the time to get to know your business so that they can continue to add value and support to what you do." Dale Clareburt
"I worked in the BizDojo space for a year and a half and I absolutely loved it. I've visited other spaces around Auckland, but none of them seem to have everything that BizDojo has. Past residents are always welcome in the community, which is really special. I cannot express how amazing the BizDojo team are at what they do. Highlights: - Consistently the most epic, attentive staff who are up for any challenge (and a great time); - Awesome, active residents (and really great opportunities to interact with them); - Fantastic amenities (meeting rooms, event space, showers, kitchen, espresso, cafe, community garden[!!]) - Heaps of opportunities to get involved with the community; - Great events/talks/roundtables on heaps of topics and from heaps of awesome people (local and international); - A well thought-out layout to accommodate people who like their environment to be quiet, social, or anywhere in between. I'm looking forward to going back to work in the space when I can :)" Simon Thomas
"I love it here. It's a great environment for me and my dev team to get stuff done. It's outstanding to have many other talented and friendly folks around to share ideas with and have a yarn with. Being based here is also a big positive feature as we're recruiting new talent." Jonathan Hoskin
"It's a pleasure to be part of the community at Biz Dojo. The space is very special, it accommodates for a range of businesses and people, provides a nurturing and flexible environment to develop & work. The facilities are great and the staff really put a focus on making connections between the members." Jason Fishwick
Orange Coworking is located in South Austin and has, by far, THE BEST owner/operator of any coworking space I've been to. Shelley (owner/operator) personally meets every member and visitor and looks for every opportunity to make valuable connections. She also stays on top of all of the other local coworking spaces so she know what is going on and what space is the best fit for people that come in to her space. She genuinely wants to make every business owner more successful in her space as well as other coworking spaces, she understands that the success of all spaces impacts the entire industry.
People Squared (P2) is China's earliest established co-working space. Founded in 2010. People Squared is now also the largest co-working space network in China with more than 25 locations in 5 cities, hundreds of events every year, and most of all, serving thousands entrepreneurs and organizations including Xinchejian, Chinaccelerator, FotoPlace, Rela, Zhoumo, Jianshu, Huodongxing and Gevek, etc. Over 380 Million USD fund raising was done among the teams inside P2's network. As the pioneer of the co-working industry in China, P2 also brought the Global Coworking UnConference Conference (GCUC) to China in Dec 2015 and Sep 2016.
P2 not only provides a flexible and professional work environment to the innovation community, but also builds an open platform with integrated resources, where individuals and groups can interact and share resources with top talents around the world.
In April 2016, People Squared announced the partnership with Google for Entrepreneurs (GFE) to set up Tech Network Hubs in both Shanghai and Beijing. P2 members and the local startup community can have the access to GFE's global network and resources.
